The popularity of escape rooms has been growing over the last decade, thanks to their immersive storylines and mind-bending puzzles. The Escape Game at Easton is a recent addition, and we decided to put our teamwork to the test.
If you’ve never been to an escape room, here are a few basics: Upon checking in (reservations recommended), you are led to your “adventure.” Each adventure has a theme and difficulty level, allowing you to choose based on your preference. Once inside the room, you and your teammates must solve multiple puzzles within a time limit to escape.
We love this type of “fun stress,” as it tests our ability to communicate with each other. Without giving away the storyline (as promised), we started in an Indian marketplace and successfully prevented a worldwide disaster for the FBI. Thanks to a couple of hints from the staff, we escaped with just four minutes to spare.
Although we were frantic at times while searching and solving, we left with smiles on our faces and were even given a tour of the other rooms. The current themes at The Escape Game in Easton include Gold Rush, The Heist, The Depths, Prison Break, and Special Ops: Mysterious Market. Prison Break seems especially intriguing, as it starts with the party split up in adjoining cells and needing to help each other solve puzzles on either side. The rooms are excellently decorated, making it feel like stepping into another world.
It was tons of fun with just the two of us, but we can’t wait to bring a group of our friends. Hannah has done an escape room with her coworkers, and they had a blast. It’s the type of teamwork that helps you see how your companions think and reason, allowing you to compare and fit your ideas together. Have fun escaping, and let us know how it goes!
