This week’s exploration took us to a newer spot with a whopping 4.9 google star rating!  Elliot’s Wood Fired Grill just opened up the New Albany location in October of 2023, and it seems like a hit already. 

Elliot’s prides itself on American cuisine and wood-fired pizza in a Neapolitan style.  The unique flavors among classic dishes that we know and love create a fun and dynamic menu. One of their most popular appetizers, meatballs, is a classic packed with flavor that we just had to try. Although delicious, these gigantic meatballs are filling, so be prepared to take some home! There is something for everyone between pizzas, subs, tacos, and more.  We didn’t try their famous pizza as we had just had some, but are planning to back to test it out! Not to mention their unique cocktails and craft beers, Hannah had a drink that tasted just like a pumpkin pie (even if it was way after thanksgiving!).

After learning more about the owners, it’s no wonder the business took off the way it did. Andre Sarap and her partner have both been in the restaurant business for many years. Andre’s great-grandfather actually founded one of our favorite local ice creameries, Velvet! She grew up taste-testing new flavors until she was old enough to work for the family business at the age of 13. She then continued to learn about the business with her family for the next 20 years.  Once her brother and sister took over the ice cream business, she and her partner Michael found the Red Oak Pub in Newark, Ohio. After its success, they started Elliot’s just a few years later at the first location in Newark! They named it Elliot’s after the Elliot’s Hardware Store that had stood in that spot for so many years prior. Now they have expanded to both Pataskala and New Albany!
