With locations in New Albany, Hilliard, Gahanna and The Short North- the Goat quickly gained popularity for its scrumptious foods and unique entertainment possibilities. With a full bar and American cuisine, it is perfect for a date night or a work party – but the surrounding area makes this restaurant really stand out from the crowd.
Eating experience: The different locations have rooms to cater to larger parties and the equipment to do a Buffet style dinner, making it the perfect spot for hosting. We have visited often for a date night and found a few favorite foods this way. We are huge fans of their bone-in wings, flavorful but not too spicy or mild. The brussel sprouts are to die for, and Hannah craves their mahi tacos in the summer. They have a pineapple slaw on top that just makes it. One dish we will say that misses the mark is their chicken and biscuits. We have tried this multiple times and Are never satisfied… the biscuits are either too hard or the chicken too dry.
The Rest of It: The Goat in New Albany is unique in the way that it is “attached” to apartments, by real estate, and by name! The apartments have the luxury of having a restaurant just a short walk away. Because the apartments are so close, the Goat didn’t just stop at a restaurant and bar. They put a pool and sand valley ball courts behind the restaurant! The patrons of the restaurant are open to using these amenities, as well as the residents. It quickly becomes a party atmosphere on the weekends! Keep an eye out on their website for other events held there for the public.
The Coffee Shop: The newest edition to the Goat is their coffee shop! It’s attached to the restaurant for easy access and provides a calm environment to get work done and grab a delicious drink – or a yummy breakfast treat! We just tried out their new flavors and were pleasantly surprised by the flavors! We especially loved the Spanish Mocha with the hint of cayenne on the palette.
NEW!
After closing for renovations, the Goat just reopened its Gahanna location, and it is looking so chic! The space has been completely transformed and blew us away. My favorite color is green, and they heavily leaned into a green monotone, so I may be slightly biased. The space doesn’t have as much room for larger parties as the New Albany location, but feels more homey.
