Budd Dairy Food Hall

After being disappointed by a forty-minute wait at a nearby restaurant and feeling famished, we decided to search for other dining options on Google. After some discussion, we settled on trying out a Louisiana-style restaurant that we had never been to before. As we arrived, we realized that it was located in a large building and we were in for an unexpected experience.

The hostess provided us with some basic information: all the food was on the lower level, there was seating and games on the second floor, and there was a heated rooftop patio. When we walked in, we found ourselves in a layout similar to a food hall, with various businesses and cuisines being sold. We noticed that we could enjoy comfort food at Alphabetical, Louisiana Gumbo at Southern Modern Table, and desserts from Cheesecake Girl, among other options. After exploring our choices, we decided we still wanted tacos, so we headed to Tacos Rudos. We each ordered three tacos – pork, steak, and fish – and then began to explore.

While each eatery offered drinks, there was also a full-service bar located in the middle of the hall. There was abundant seating surrounding a stage with a projected sports game. With drinks in hand, we ventured to explore the upper levels.

The second floor had another bar, a projected screen, and a cozier seating arrangement. Board games were stacked on a bookshelf, while the lights of a few arcade games lit up in the background. Eager to see more, we made our way to the rooftop. The white heated tent, third bar, and bar tables made it a great spot in the winter, and even more so in the warmth of summer.

We found a cozy spot and as soon as we settled in, our food was ready. The drinks were unique and sweet, slightly sugary. They also offered wine, beer, and other options, but we opted to try one of their specials. The tacos were delicious! Each one had a distinct flavor unique to the featured protein. When we returned for a Horchata for dessert, the cooks remembered us and were very personable. On the drive home, we discussed what we wanted to try next, because we definitely plan to go back. With weekly events like trivia and wine & canvas nights, it seems like the perfect place for a night out with friends.
