Dueling Axes

Our excursions took us to the new Dueling Axes in New Albany this time, and it was such a fun experience with the family! We booked a lane beforehand on their website and signed their online waiver to make it easier upon arrival.

The entrance leads to a large room containing several stalls set with targets and a full bar along the wall! Of course we had to indulge ourselves in a drink or two. I started with a Chocolate Old Fashioned and although it was unique, we all agreed that their take on a Moscow Mule was the crowd favorite.

Now to actually throw some axes!  With six people to a stall, we *attempted* to hit a bullseye.  By the end of our stay, I think almost every one of us had hit it at least once!  The gameplay reminded us of TopGolf.  If you haven’t been, you can play a standard, simple game or you can change it to a game with different objectives, ways of scoring, and more.

This made for endless time of entertainment, although you generally book the stall for an hour or two at a time. It would be the perfect place for almost any kind of celebration, especially without having an age limit!  Just remember that you can bring your own food, as the full bar is all they offer.

We had such a great time here that we plan to return soon. It is refreshing to have something different to do with a group that’s right here in our neighborhood, and has easy parking.  Even though this location is so close to home, we event want to check out the other location on 4th Street!  Let us know which game style you like most and what we should try out next time!
