This week our stomachs took us to a small café just off of Neil Ave. that is known for their stuffed pancake balls, Katalina’s! My girlfriend, Hannah, lived just a block away while in college and couldn’t wait to visit again. So much so that we were the first people through the door that morning!
It was nice and quiet for us but there is definitely limited seating, especially when the patio is closed. After placing our order at the counter, we sat at one of the graffiti-covered tables and added our mark with the paint pens they provide.
After perusing their sauce selection and finding the oldest date on the walls we could, our breakfast was ready!
We each had a main plate and then ordered the pumpkin-apple butter pancake balls for good measure. Everything was spot on! Tacos were tasty, potatoes delicious, and pancake balls heavenly. The only thing we could dig on was the amount of spices that covered the corn.
Katalina’s opened first on Harrison West and recently opened a location in Clintonville as well. The food is made from scratch and you can tell, even though the average meal is just fifteen dollars. Katalina’s is unique in the way that you can make almost every single dish vegetarian or vegan! They truly have it all, and we would highly recommend!!
