Polaris Grill

Last week, we couldn’t decide what to make for dinner at home, so we decided to try a new restaurant. We went to the Polaris Grill, a place we had always seen but never tried before. The restaurant is located behind a hotel and is popular with visitors from all over the country. We found easy parking in their large lot and were seated on the patio right away.

Although we missed seeing the interior, I heard it’s well-designed with modern fixtures and comfortable seating. The restaurant prides itself on providing an upscale casual dining experience since 1997. The patio was beautiful, filled with plants and offering a perfect sunset view. We ordered a glass of wine and listened to a rowdy birthday party at a nearby table who seemed to be having a great time. The restaurant also offers private rooms for events and has plenty of seating for large parties. Our server was busy but attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.

For the main courses, I ordered the grilled veal chop, and Hannah opted for the blackened grouper sliders. The fish on the sliders was good, especially with the pineapple, but it needed more flavor. My veal chops were unfortunately bland, despite the good taste of the sweet sauce on top. Even though Hannah wants to go back and try some other items on the menu like the “55” Salad, Wild Mushroom Bisque, and Aztec Chowder, I was not impressed overall and am hesitant to return.

After another disappointing meal, we’ve decided to take a break from trying new restaurants next week and do something fun instead.
