Ventured out to Hilliard for this week’s exploration and did a little bowling! We have been to a lot of bowling alleys; gotta love a good competition throwing balls. This time we wanted to check out somewhere we had never been (aside from that one time Josh went 5 years ago and barely remembers).
Ten Pin Bowling in Hilliard takes residence in a building that has housed bowling lanes since the 1960s! Previously Northwest Lanes, Ten Pins underwent construction just about five years ago. They doubled their amount of lanes and added all sorts of additional amenities. As you walk in, the space splits into two sides of bowling. On the left, chandeliers hang over a space that is available for reservation and has its own bar alongside a handful of bowling lanes. To the right, a scenic vintage background hangs over the pins, bringing a fun aesthetic to the normally boring backgrounds.
Differing slightly from other venues we have been to, you pay by the time you plan to spend bowling. Between thirty minutes and an hour, we chose the longer of the two and were able to fit in 3 normal games with just the two of us. At roughly 35-40 dollars a game, it’s more than worth it for a party of four or more. The family of four beside us was able to finish one normal game, and one specialty game style in the allotted hour. Alongside normal bowling, the scoring options can differ depending on how much time you want to play and the number of bowlers. Make sure you check out all the options of play on the touch screen at your lane, as the time for bowling doesn’t start until you press start game!
An added level of luxury appeared as a server found our table and offered us food and drinks. We decided to test out their chicken nachos and pretzel sticks.. the food was definitely nothing to write home about but was decent for bar food and great in quantity! The nachos could easily be an appetizer for a group of 4+.
After Josh took the win 2/3 times, we ventured over to the arcade to see what games were available. To our dismay, there were twice as many claw games as any other type, and we quickly turned around. If we return, it will be to check out their two-story laser tag arena, which is more than affordable at eight dollars a game! We didn’t get any sneak peeks, but would love to know what you thought if you’ve been here tagging!
